Getting to Rio Grande Mall

OK, assuming you've come over the free bridge made it to the fork where the road goes to Lincoln to the left, and Avenida de las Americas to the right Take Lincoln to the left.

The road is going to curve several times before you get to Rio Grande Mall, which is at the intersection of PT de la Republica and Lopez Mateos. First you will pass up Hermanos Escobar then you will cross Benjamin Franklin, where the road will curve to the right, then to the left. This curve goes around the west side of the Pronaf, which features a shopping mall with an ice skating rink, and a Golden Corral. You cross Mejia, then turn left onto Estrada. You will pass up one of the Seguro Social hospitals on the left. The road runs into Lopez Mateos; turn right there It is one way at this point, but if you could turn left, you'd get to the American Consulate in a few minutes. 100 yards south on Lopez Mateos is Paseo Triunfo de la Republica Actually, this is where it changes names from 16th of September.

From here: Rio Grande Mall is on the far left (southeast) corner of the intersection, although you can't see it from the intersection. Taberna del Rey is on the back side of the mall, as is Hippos Bar, and Dega Restaurant and Bar. These are all good places. If you turn left at the intersection, on your immediate left will be an Applebee's, Salon de Mexico dance hall, and a really cool place, the name of which currently escapes me. Keep going, and you will pass up a Soriana's mall, which has a movie theater, and go around the Curva de San Lorenzo. If, instead of turning left onto P.T. de la Republica, you will hit another shopping mall in about 10 minutes, at Carretera Casas Grandes. Before that, if you turn left at Ejercito Nacional, you will hit Plaza Juarez Mall after about 15 minutes. Before you turn onto Estrada, at Lincoln at Mejia, is Chamucos, which is a nice sports bar. (surprise, surprise) Most of the customers are guys, though. There are several nice restaurants and bars within 100 yards of Lincoln on Mejia.
