Driving over the Free Bridge

Being free, the lines are usually longer, especially coming back, but you're a trouper, right? Anyway, here are the turnoffs you'll need to watch for: about 50 yards past the bridge, right at the big giant 'Welcome to Mexico' sign, there is a road that will take you downtown. Turn right onto it. Obey the speed limit, though; I got one of my two tickets there. The next chance to turn off is right before the big Rotary statue (rear) and (front). (looks kind of like a giant Cheerio). Right before the overpass (did I mention you should stay right?), take the exit downhill to the street that passes under the overpass, which, I believe, is Ribereña (sorry about the photo, but I took it while driving). About a minute after the Rotary statue, there is a BIG fork in the road. The left fork is Lincoln Avenue, the right fork is Avenida de las Americas. Note: the photo was taken from the other side of the street, but you can clearly see the fork. If you take the left fork to Lincoln, you can go to the Rio Grande Mall. In future columns, I will tell you where Americas goes.
