How to find the City Market

Photos: one and two.

Walking: walk south on Juarez Avenue, turn left on 16th of September. The City Market is on Agustin Melgar and 16th of September, which is roughly 5 blocks past Lerdo, or about 7 blocks past Juarez Avenue. It is on the left (north) side of 16th. It would take me, a fast walker, nearly an hour to get there from the bridge.

Driving: If you drive across the Free Bridge (Bridge of the Americas), take Avenida de las Americas (see Driving over the Free Bridge, below), turn right on 16th of September. It will be on your right, about 10 minutes in minimal traffic. If you cross over from Stanton Street, you will be on Lerdo. Proceed south on Lerdo, turning left on Mejia. This will become Hermanos Escobar. If you don't take the left fork when the road splits up, you will still hit Avenida de las Americas. Anyway, turn right on Avenida de las Americas, then another right to 16th of September. I should have mentioned that Mejia is one of many one-way streets in Juarez. If you want to save quite a bit of time, don't drive all the way to Americas; just drive 6-8 blocks east of Lerdo, turn right (watch out for one-way streets), then turn right onto Sixteenth of September.
